Titanic director James Cameron reveals Leonardo DiCaprio nearly did not get the position of Jack Dawson

Titanic director James Cameron has revealed that Leonardo DiCaprio nearly did not get his iconic position within the movie due to his angle.

In accordance with Cameron, he nearly shook a 21-year-old DiCaprio’s hand and noticed him on his approach after the actor refused to do a studying for him throughout auditions.

In a brand new interview with GQ, Cameron recalled, “I mentioned [to DiCaprio], ‘Okay, we’ll simply go within the subsequent room, and we’ll run some traces and I am going to video it.’ And he mentioned, ‘You imply, I am studying?'”

“I mentioned, ‘Oh, yeah. Come on. It is a large film that’s going to take two years of my life, and you will be gone doing 5 different issues whereas I am doing post-production.

“So, I am not going to f–k it up by making the incorrect resolution in casting. So, you are going to learn, otherwise you’re not going to get the half.'”

After that, DiCaprio was huffy, and apparently very “adverse” main as much as having to learn with co-star Kate Winslet.

“He is available in… and each ounce of his complete being is simply so adverse – proper up till I mentioned, ‘Motion.’ Then he became Jack,” the director marvelled.
