If you are struggling to get a win on today’s Connections puzzle, you will want to get the tips below to help you out. Today’s puzzle felt a little easier than the last few to me, but that doesn’t mean it’s a universal experience. My friends find certain puzzles much easier than I do sometimes and vice versa, as all of our brains work a little differently. Check out the hints below to help you beat the puzzle and achieve victory.
If you are looking for something else to try out next, the NYT’s Mini Crossword puzzle is one of the fun ones that I enjoy solving. A crossword puzzle always has a lot of potential due to the mix of logic and cultural references, and it’s a perfect bite-sized version that allows you to complete it in a very quick amount of time. It’s already a classic puzzle, and this one, being both free and in a manageable size, makes it well worth the look.
Today’s Connections Category Hints
MARCH 08 #636
If you are trying to solve this one and it isn’t going well, I would nudge you to look at the clues below to see if you can solve it without looking at the spoilers. That said, these categories are a little easier to separate out, since we do have a definition-based category today, which makes me happy. Additionally, one of the categories could be guessed just by looking at the way the words can be used in speech, so pay close attention.
- One category is about things that are not as real as they look like they might be
- One category is about four words you might see on a specific place in your house
- One category is about words that are all said in the same manner in a popular series
- One category is about four words that come before a different word in a phrase – that word is a basic shape

This was the first category I got, although I had issues with one other word. I used BOGUS instead of ARTIFICIAL the first time, and it made sense but when I saw I was one away I knew something was wrong. When I had to make a choice, I switched out BOGUS as it seemed the least similar to the rest of the words. I was then able to gobble up the category and keep moving on. It was nice to be able to grab it fast with only one mistake though.

I got this for a totally unrelated reason, as I thought this was about yarn types, but I was pleasantly surprised to find that it was the right answer. Even if for the wrong reason, I needed a win today to boost my mood with Connections, so I wasn’t mad about it. It’s also this way because different fibers do need to be washed differently, so I wasn’t as far off as it seemed I might be. Either way, I moved onto the next category where I also made a similar guess.

I looked at the remaining words and I got this one mainly because I spotted that all of these words were things that could be said with an ! after them. It was not the right reason to get this category, but I was happy to see there was an alternative way to figure out this category without necessarily knowing the right reason for it. Sometimes these categories feel impossible to get without the reference, so this one felt pretty good.

I liked this category a lot, even if I didn’t get it until the very end. This could have been a pretty difficult category, but I like all of the individual words in it and the words that they make. Sometimes there are just fun words, even if the puzzle itself can make me very frustrated at times. CHATTER and CHATTERBOX, in particular, are my favorites from this one.
