Tragedy Strikes Lost Lands: 2 Festival Attendees Confirmed Dead

Two people have passed away after attending the 2024 edition of Lost Lands in Ohio, the festival’s organizers confirmed today.

Lost Lands began Friday, September 20th and concluded Sunday, September 22nd.

“We are deeply saddened to share that two individuals who attended the event passed away over the weekend in separate incidents,” Lost Lands said in a statement shared on social media. “We extend our sincere condolences to their family, friends and loved ones.”

“The health, safety and welfare of our fans and community are our top priority. The exact causes of these tragedies are unrelated to any vehicle incident and remain unknown. We will not provide further details out of respect for the families’ privacy.”

The Licking County Sheriff’s Office had earlier announced the deaths of two men: James Phromphanh, 34 and an unnamed 27-year-old. It’s unclear at this time whether substances or alcohol played a role, and a toxicology report is pending.

The family of Phromphanh has launched a fundraising campaign to aid in the process of retrieving his body. “He passed away in another state, and we just want to bring him home to Texas and give him a proper ceremony with his loved ones,” they said via GoFundMe.

In a separate incident, a man was arrested after allegedly driving his vehicle into a number of tents within the campgrounds of Lost Lands, one of the nation’s top electronic music festivals. Noah Curtis, 24, was taken into custody and charged with aggravated vehicular assault after injuring two people, one of whom was reportedly hospitalized with a broken hip.

We at EDM.com express our sincere condolences to the family, friends and loved ones of the victims during this difficult time.
