The adventures of Indiana Jones take the archeologist to some crazy places where he is hunting down lost historical artifacts. While many of these artifacts are inspired by things that exist in real history, the films do take creative license to embellish the story to make things even more interesting and fun.

The Indiana Jones series is one of the most iconic action/adventure film franchises of all time, but you’re not going to watch them for a history lesson. Yes, the artifacts Indy searches for in the films are believed to exist, but that doesn’t means all the details are accurate.
However, there are certain things in the films that might sound ridiculous which are actually based in reality. From the Nazi obsession with the occult and archaeology to the real-life story of the crystal skulls, let’s take a look at some things that the Indiana Jones movies actually get right about history.
