Walmart’s website has a webpage dedicated to the Nintendo brand, featuring advertisements for Nintendo related products, with the ability to easily add them directly to your cart to make an informed purchase. While there’s nothing new or surprising about that, in an attempt to continue to push sales for Nintendo Switch Online, with Walmart offering both physical cards and digital codes for memberships, eagle-eyed fans were quick to spot an updated banner ad, featuring two GameCube games that have not been added to the service, or even officially announced yet: Metroid Prime 2: Echoes and Pikmin 2.
Both are classic titles deserving of being on the service, of course, but they’re also interesting picks for a multitude of reasons. Pikmin 2 is already available to purchase on Switch for £24.99/$29.99, and the original Metroid Prime already got fully Remastered, so getting Prime 2: Echoes (without Prime 3: Corruption) as an NSO drop wouldn’t make for the ideal remastered trilogy that’s been hoped for and rumored for years now. But then again, The Legend of Zelda: Wind Waker was recently added to Switch Online without Wind Waker HD ever being ported over from Wii U, so anything is possible.
