Welcome To Plathville season 7 has featured the Plath siblings in a whole new light, and though reality TV often relies on produced tension and drama, the show’s strange double date from the most recent episode proves things have gone too far. Welcome To Plathville season 7 has been a struggle to get through so far, even without the overproduction on screen.
Throughout the season thus far, issues have cropped up with Ethan Plath and his new girlfriend, Teegan, as he’s introduced her to the series and the family. While it’s been clear that Ethan’s relationship with his ex-wife Olivia Plath has still been looming over the series as a whole, his trying to move forward is generally a good sign.
Even so, Ethan and his younger brother, Isaac Plath, inviting their girlfriends on a strange double date was one of the most uncomfortable parts of the most recent episode of the series. Welcome To Plathville has shown some strange moments in the family’s life before, but the double date was one of the most over-produced and uncomfortable pieces of the puzzle.
Isaac & Ethan’s Double Date With Their Girlfriends Quickly Went Awry
Their Evening Felt Overly Produced
Although it’s often something viewers have hoped for, Welcome To Plathville finding their way into a double date between two of the siblings and their significant others wasn’t an expected move for the current season of the series. While the Plaths have been more accepting of one another and interested in each other’s lives over the last few years, they still don’t all seem to be close.
Ethan and Isaac cooked for their girlfriends, Teegan and Kaylynn, during a night on the family farm together, and as the couples sat down to dinner, it was clear things were off. Eating steak that they claimed tasted like lighter fluid, things continued to get strange as the Plathville couples decided to paint one another like a viral social media meme.
When Ethan, rather than painting Teegan’s face as the instructions of the meme stated, chose to paint his girlfriend’s naked body, things got uncomfortable. Teegan, who was accused of having an OnlyFans by fellow Plath girlfriend Veronica Peters, was clearly uncomfortable, and the date seemed like it went off the rails from there, making the Plaths and viewers somewhat uncomfortable.

The Series Needs To Scale Back Its Interference
Although Welcome To Plathville will always have some kind of production interference, the fact that it’s been so heavily interfered with has been a major issue this season. Viewers have struggled to watch as the siblings have spent time together, especially when it feels overly produced and fake. Ethan and Isaac’s double date was awkward, uncomfortable, and felt forced on Welcome To Plathville.
