Karen hosts a “Sofia Home” event for the ladies on this episode of The Real Housewives of Potomac. But getting everyone together is no easy feat. Tia is still reeling from learning that her husband is on a dating app as Stacey and Courtney discuss their on-again-off-again relationships with their husbands. Wendy discovers what Gizelle really thinks of her and clears the air with Karen regarding past issues. But does it make things better or worse?
Tia shares with Stacey and Wendy that she outright asked her husband, “How long have you been on it?” -it being an online dating website. Tia’s husband admits he has been at least a year because he felt lonely and was looking for attention. Tia feels humiliated, considering she had to ask her own husband to delete his online dating app. She gets emotional thinking about her daughter finding out about this because it is not okay, but it is not Tia’s burden to carry.
In the meantime, Karen is ready to celebrate her release with a “Sofia Home” celebration, a nod to The Color Purple.
Stacey is busy at home with her ex-husband, Thiemo Rusch, who is now back to being in her life once again. In order to make things work with their relationship, they decide they need to work on date night and focus on one another. Stacey shares the news about Tia’s husband on the dating site and realizes how grateful she is with the man in her life. They both chuckle over Tia’s comment that Stacey married up and pay no mind to it.
Wendy goes to visit her mom and is grateful for this new-found closeness with her since she has gotten into her legal troubles. Wendy explains that being around her mom makes her feel supported, whereas the other ladies are merely waiting for her downfall. Wendy’s mom loves Eddie and promises that they will stay married despite all of the issues. Wendy talks about the upcoming hearing and explains that she dislikes how this situation has impacted so many people.
Courtney shares that she is on her journey of being ordained, adding to her basketball wife resume. She opens up about her marriage of 16 years and the 2 years that they were separated due to infidelity on both sides. They are now stronger than ever and are hoping to have a little girl to add to the family.
Tia is anticipating the visit of her mother who is coming from London for three months. The problem is, Tia’s world is falling apart with her husband. Tia is not worried about her kids picking up on the tension in their marriage, but she does worry about the bigger issues between the two of them.
Gizelle meets up with her friend for a hike and they get into the juicy gossip fast. Gizelle brings up the issues about Tia’s husband and her friend reminds her that it looks shady that Gizelle showed it to Ashley before Tia. Gizelle needs to be a friend to Tia and now she realizes how important it is.
Wendy and Robyn get together. Wendy explains that the Robyn she used to know has always been Gizelle’s right hand woman, but since being away from the group, Robyn explains that she comes in peace. Robyn points out that the toxicity did not allow them to interact normally.
Wendy explains that now things are good with Eddie, but in the beginning, things were “rough.” Wendy is being extremely open with Robyn and it feels like maybe Wendy was blindsided.
“When everything happened, Robyn it was rough. He’s so used to me like cracking out on him… I think he has PTSD,” admitted Wendy.
Robyn also seems to pick up on a repeating pattern where it seems Wendy is perhaps blaming Eddie for their current legal mess or insinuating Eddie is to blame.
“I get the feeling that Wendy is kind of maybe blaming Eddie,” shared Robyn in her confessional. “If you’re saying there’s some issues, then that means you might have been blindsided.”
Wendy grabs lunch with Robyn and confides in her that things had not been easy with husband Eddie amid their legal drama
Despite Wendy making it clear that she wasn’t too happy with Robyn and Gizelle gossiping and cracking jokes about her arrest of their ‘Reasonably Shady’ podcast, Robyn makes it clear that if information is in the news, they will talk about it on her podcast, but she is “not with the bullsh*t.”
Gizelle meets Tia at a spring festival because she wants to make things right. Gizelle admits that she was wrong and the information should have been delivered from her, not Ashley. Tia wants a friend to think about her first and she tells Gizelle not to talk about her on the podcast.
When it comes to her husband, Tia explains that she has been very calm and shares that she did catch her husband on a dating site back when they were first married. Gizelle opens up about her ex-husband and lets Tia know she should give herself a year before deciding what to do about their marriage.
Tia wants Gizelle to step up for Wendy, but Gizelle can’t wrap her head around the fact that Wendy committed a crime. She refers to Wendy as a scammer and a criminal, but points out that she does not need to kick Wendy when she is already down.
“The Grand Dame is back like she never left.” Ashley is the first to arrive at Karen’s “Sofia Home” party, which appears to be a confusing theme for all of the ladies. No one understand this party that Karen is hosting. Ashley and Tia take a moment to talk and Ashley explains that she needs to be a bit softer.
Karen makes her grand entrance dressed as Sofia Home, gray wig and all. But don’t get it twisted, Sofia was not coming home to a med spa like Karen is. Karen talks about her soft era now and she shares the personalized treatments she has planned for each of the women.
They are a bit shady as she shares the reasons, like Robyn needs a liquid IV for energy because she is thirsty. Karen explains that she has an “ambitious track” growing out of her booty and so she will get that taken care of for her hubby.
No one is sure why Karen is getting this treatment, considering she is not wearing her ring. Karen asks that Robyn be patient with her as she works out the kinks in her relationship, but it leaves the women scratching their heads.
Tia shares that things between her husband, Rob, are cordial. Wendy believes that maybe they will come out of this together and stronger. Tia points out that Courtney was separated from her husband for two years and have come back together, much like Stacey and her husband.
Tia lets Wendy know that Gizelle called her a scammer and shares Gizelle’s position on the situation. Wendy only wants positivity around her and now she feels like Gizelle is her enemy. Wendy is grateful for Tia and Stacey and makes it clear that she needs to have a conversation with Karen.
Post treatments, Gizelle shares that she is going to speak to Congress and asks for some advice from Wendy, as Wendy is savvy in that sense. Wendy is irked that Gizelle would ask for her advice after calling her a scammer.
Karen opens the floor up to questions and shares that she always knew she would be able to make it through her hard time. She now talks to other women who are out, but having difficulties because they do not have what she has at home. However, Wendy calls Karen disingenuous. She points out that Karen wants to help women going through difficult times, but she kicks Wendy when she is down.
Karen explains that their charges were very different- she was sick and she made that choice to check herself into treatment. But, word on the street is that Karen went to no rehab. Wendy wants Karen to take accountability for being a bad friend. However, Karen feels like Wendy was a bad friend to HER when she questioned Karen’s rehab stints.
Wendy reminds Karen that grown women don’t tell each other to STFU, but Karen explains she apologized for that and so it’s done. Karen shuts Wendy down hard, leaving everyone looking around wondering what next.
