Grace revealed that she faked Liam’s cancer diagnosis to arrange the money she needed to repay her ex-husband Reese’s debts. She had no option other than scamming Bill Spencer of money as her daughters’ lives were threatened by the loan sharks.
Grace confesses to Finn that Reese’s gambling debts pushed her to falsely diagnose Liam with a tumor. A disgusted Finn calls her out for scamming Bill Spencer to fund experimental treatments on Liam for her personal gain. He condemns her for causing Liam and the family unnecessary stress and agony.
Grace further reveals that Liam initially did have a brain bleed, which she used to convince people that he had an inoperable brain tumor. She says that she was helpless as the loan sharks were threatening her daughters’ lives. Her ex-husband was covered in immense debts, so she took advantage of Liam’s cranial injury and turned it into a fake tumor.
