Rachel Hargrove has moved on from the Below Deck franchise since season 10. She joined the reality yachting show during season 8 and was a cast member until season 10. During her tenure on the show, Chef Rachel was a fan-favorite crew member. She had a dry sense of humor that she showed off in her confessional interviews. Chef Rachel could be unhinged at times, but she always delivered great food for the charter guests. While she remained on the show for three seasons, it wouldn’t be long until her relationship with Bravo would turn sour.
Chef Rachel is no longer in good graces with the network, even though she’s regarded as one of the best Below Deck chefs. She made controversial decisions throughout her time on the show, including drinking on the job and creating dramatic exits. Chef Rachel was quite dramatic during her stint on Below Deck, but that’s her personality. Outside of reality TV, she’s still an incredibly successful chef, and she hasn’t let her animosity towards Bravo and the Below Deck franchise ruin the fate of her career.
Chef Rachel Announced Her Departure Before Below Deck Season 10 Aired
Chef Rachel has spoken negatively about Below Deck and the Bravo network. During Below Deck season 8, she butted heads with Eddie Lucas after he called out her behavior when drinking. Rachel’s distaste for the franchise began after he brought up her alcohol consumption. She returned for Below Deck season 9 and revealed Rachel had a conflict with Southern Charm star Austen Kroll on X/Twitter in July 2022. In since-deleted posts shared with Sportskeeda, Chef Rachel called him a “narcissistic tw*t.” She then shared her text messages with a Bravo producer, asking her to take down the post.
“I am done with bravo and belowdeck!”
Instead of removing the original post about Austen, Chef Rachel retaliated and left it up. One day later, she announced she was parting ways with the network. She cited her departure for not wanting to be “associated [sic] with organizations [she doesn’t] believe in.” Chef Rachel had already filmed Below Deck season 10 before her Twitter feud with Austen occurred in July 2022. After all the drama played out, the Below Deck audience got to enjoy the Chef for one more season when it started airing in November 2022.
Rachel Still Works As A Yacht Chef
Chef Rachel Is Still Working On Yachts
Even though she’s no longer on Below Deck, Chef Rachel has continued to work as a yacht chef. There’s no denying that she’s grown in popularity since appearing on Below Deck. However, her success after the show can be attributed to her success as a chef. On Instagram, Chef Rachel shares updates about her job working on superyachts.
Chef Rachel’s Journey On Below Deck
Chef Rachel Had A Good Run On Below Deck
Chef Rachel was on three seasons of Below Deck and made her mark on each season. During Below Deck season 8, she was condemned for her drinking by Eddie. She created one of the show’s most iconic moments when storming off the superyacht after being frustrated by the guests’ preferences. While creating hectic moments in her day-to-day role as a chef, Rachel won over the Below Deck audience in her confessional interviews. Her sense of humor isn’t everyone’s cup of tea, but she still charmed fans.

She had more unhinged moments, including when she demanded a fully silent galley during a stressful moment but continued to win fans over. During Below Deck season 10, Captain Sandy Yawn replaced Captain Lee Rosbach, which created drama. The replacement captain put Rachel in the middle of her drama with Chief Stew Fraser Olender, though that was her most contentious moment in the season.
Will Chef Rachel Ever Return To Below Deck?
It’s Unlikely That Chef Rachel Will Come Back To The Show
Rachel likely won’t return to Below Deck. She has moved on from reality TV and is focusing on her career as a yachting chef. It would be nice if Chef Rachel could be on good terms with Bravo, but she’d have to apologize. Below Deck would benefit from her return to the franchise, but there is little to no chance of her returning to the show. As one of the most beloved chefs of the franchise, it’s upsetting that she doesn’t have a great relationship with Bravo. However, Chef Rachel is still thriving as a superyacht chef and doesn’t need the show to have a successful career.
What Is Rachel Up To In 2024?
Rachel Worked In The Med
As mentioned earlier, Rachel has continued to be a yacht chef long after departing from Below Deck. Cooking has always been her passion, and she wasn’t going to give it up after leaving the Bravo series. However, in 2024, Rachel has done a lot more traveling than cooking, according to her Instagram. Her most recent post, as of November 5, is from October 27, which is a video of what she was up to in Italy. Rachel visited the European country over the summer and seemed excited by the wine, according to the video.
The video she posted mainly consisted of the different wines she found in Italy, as well as some scenic views of the gorgeous waters. It’s likely this trip to Italy was for work, as she shared in the Instagram comment section that she went provisioning when she took these photos. Nonetheless, Rachel was enjoying her time while getting to work on the Mediterranean Sea. Rachel also spent some time in London back in September, taking of video of what the streets of London look like from her point of view.
Chef Rachel has moved on from her time in the Below Deck franchise. While she was a beloved cast member for three seasons, Rachel clearly didn’t love the microscope she was under that comes with working on a reality TV show. Rachel was great TV for fans, but it wasn’t something that would work out for her in the long run. Rachel was a valued cast member during her short time, but now she is focused on continuing to build her career as a yacht chef.
