Selena Gomez and Benny Blanco went to a party Taylor Swift was throwing, but something about the party shook the Wizards of Waverly Place star.
The 32-year-old singer and Blanco, 37, appeared on the Wednesday, March 19, entry of Spotify’s Countdown To, where the engaged couple spoke about their upcoming collaborative album, I Said I Love You First. As the two reminisced about their relationship, Blanco asked Gomez if she remembers the first party they ever went to together as a couple.

“I don’t know if this was the first, but it was actually really funny,” the Emilia Peréz actress replied before she added, “As a couple, we went to Taylor’s party after some awards show.” That is when Gomez revealed that despite being “kind of cute,” she was “mortified” at how early they had shown up to the function. “Apparently, cool people don’t show up to parties on time,” she told viewers.
Blanco went on to tease Gomez and jokingly said, “We’re the first people at every single party when I go with you,” and noted, “You, like, show up when, like, my mother shows up to a party.”
Swift, 35, and Gomez have been good friends since 2008, when they were each dating a Jonas Brother. The Fortnight songstress was seeing Joe Jonas, while Gomez was with Nick Jonas at the time.Blanco and Gomez started dating in 2023 and announced their engagement via an Instagram post on December 11, 2024. The lovebirds will be releasing their joint project, I Said I Love You First, on Friday, March 21, on all major music streaming platforms.
