Netflix has finally shared the release date window and first three teaser trailers for Will Ferrell‘s upcoming sports comedy series, which has now been officially titled The Hawk. The ten-episode show is expected to debut in the summer of this year.
“Lonnie Hawkins, 2004’s number one golfer, struggles on the back nine of his career to recapture his magic. His body says retire, but his heart says he’s not done yet. His ex-wife and his son, Lance, golf’s new golden boy, know he’s through,” reads the official logline. “But with one more major to win to complete golf’s Grand Slam, Lonnie refuses to believe he’s anything other than one stroke away from the greatest comeback in golf history.

The teaser trailers introduce Ferrell’s character, Lonnie, in different hilarious ways, while hinting a little bit about his background. All three videos described him as a legendary and iconic golf player who has finally returned to the sport. Meanwhile, the first video teased the potential reason why he lost his fame, revealing that the character had “the biggest choke in golf history.”
The Hawk will also star Molly Shannon as Stacy, Jimmy Tatro as Lance, Fortune Feimster as Sam, Luke Wilson as Golden Fisk, Chris Parnell as Anton, Katelyn Tarver as Natalie, David Hornsby as Radford, Gabriel Hogan as Jerry, and Aida Osman as Crystal.
