A rep for Ye has confirmed to XXL that the cease-and-desist order obtained by TMZ is a hoax. According to Ye’s team, the rapper never hired this law firm and the letter is not from him.

Ye has fired off a cease-and-desist order to his ex-wife, Kim Kardashian, accusing her of breach of joint custody and unauthorized use of their children.
Ye Calls Out Kim K. in Legal Notice
After venting on X for the past several weeks about being deprived of seeing his kids, Ye has taken action. On Thursday (May 8), Ye had a law firm in Spain send Kim’s attorneys a cease-and-desist order, according to the letter obtained by TMZ.
“This letter constitutes a formal demand to cease and desist from actions that violate Mr. West’s parental rights, exploit his children and breach a joint custody agreement established by your client’s divorce settlement,” the filing reads.
Ye claims Kim violated their divorce settlement by unauthorized exposure of their daughter North, citing the pre-teen being left in a car unattended during the recent 2025 Met Gala. He also accused Kim of denial of custodial access and exploitation without consent.
Ye is asking for the deletion of social media content featuring the couple’s kids, as well as a petition to modify their custody arrangement. Ye is demanding that his requests be fulfilled by May 23.
“We urge your client to comply with these demands to avoid further legal action and to prioritize the children’s well-being,” the letter reads.
XXL has reached out to Kim Kardashian and Ye’s team for comment.

Ye’s Wild Week
After announcing plans to sue his former dentist last week, Ye made headlines again this week. On Tuesday (May 6), he went viral for storming out of an interview with Piers Morgan. Ye sent the cease-and-desist letter on the same day that he officially released the highly offensive song “Heil Hitler.” The track has since been removed from streaming services, much to Ye’s chagrin.
