The strongest soldiers from Justice League are here! Zack Snyder reveals an absolutely jaw-dropping image of the Amazons from Themyscira.
Zack Snyder managed to stuff plenty of interesting set pieces into Justice League. However, one of the most astonishing that didn’t make it into the final film (at least, the original cut) was the Amazons defending Themyscira’s Motherbox from Steppenwolf. It’s a sequence that helped many fall in love with the most underappreciated warriors in Wonder Woman’s mythos.
And it seems the Amazons were not spared the dreaded fate of being in Zack Snyder’s camera roll. The director has continued to post images from his DC Universe projects, including Justice League. In a recent post to Instagram, the director gave fans one of their best looks ever at Themyscira’s warriors in black and white.
The Future Of The Amazons
While Zack Snyder may have introduced fans across the world to the awe-inspiring warriors of Themyscira, that doesn’t mean they left the DC Universe with him. Fans will soon return to the world of the Amazons with the Paradise Lost series, which is set to explore some of the lesser-known heroines from the mystical island.
A full Wonder Woman film is also in development for the DC Universe. It’s likely that the Amazons will also populate Themyscira as supporting characters in the project, though details about the heroine’s next journey are rather sparse at this time. Either way, these images from Justice League director Zack Snyder are certainly more than enough to hold fans over.
