One series that has been successful on multiple platforms, including the Nintendo Switch, is Octopath Traveler. The first game released in 2018, and a sequel would follow 5 years later. Both games were well received by critics, and Square Enix has apparently been satisfied with how well the games have been doing. In fact, we now have an update on how things are going.
Square Enix confirmed earlier tonight that sales of the Octopath Traveler series have now topped 5,000,000 worldwide. This total includes physical shipments and digital purchases. Since Octopath Traveler 2 released in 2023, there hasn’t been any news on what future plans for the series are. Whenever Square Enix says anything, we’ll let you know.
