Is Captain America: Brave New World going to be darker than fans expect? The official MPA rating for the Marvel film has been revealed!
For all its faults, there’s one thing that people can’t knock Marvel for: their ratings are consistent. Aside from a handful of projects like Deadpool and Wolverine, the Marvel brand has managed to maintain a very consistent rating with the MPA, with most of its films landing at PG-13. This includes some fairly violent movies such as the original Iron Man and Captain America: The Winter Soldier.
However, there was some speculation that Captain America: Brave New World might barely overshoot the rating. The film has a lot of controversial elements, both inside and outside of the screen. It’s possible, given the currently tumultuous political climate, that the violence portrayed in the film might cause the MPA to give it a higher rating than usual.
Is Captain America: Brave New World PG-13?
With a few weeks left to go until release, the official MPA rating for the project has officially been revealed. And, to nobody’s surprise, Captain America: Brave New World managed to maintain the rating of PG-13. This is for intense scenes of action and violence, as well as some strong language. So it’s entirely possible Red Hulk can still squeeze in an F-Bomb!
While the actual MPA rating of the film shouldn’t come as a surprise to anyone who pays attention to this type of things, it may come as a disappointment to those hoping that Captain America: Brave New World would be a true challenge to the status quo. While it may not be a truly Rated R experience, fans can at least look forward to some truly stellar action.
