The world of Final Destination is continuing, with a seventh film in the franchise officially in the works following the success of Final Destination Bloodlines.
What do we know about Final Destination 7?
According to a new report from THR, Final Destination 7 is moving forward at Warner Bros., with writer Lori Evans Taylor tapped to write the next installment. Taylor was also a co-writer on Bloodlines, which just released in May and earned over $286 million at the global box office.
Not only was Bloodlines a commercial success, it was also the best-reviewed film in the long-running franchise. The movie currently holds a 93% rating on Rotten Tomatoes, beating out the second-best rated film in the franchise (Final Destination 5) by a large margin.
It’s currently unclear if Zach Lipovsky and Adam Stein, who directed Bloodlines, will be back for the next movie. The pair were adamant fans of the series when they got the job to direct Bloodlines, and their passion is one of the main things people praised following its premiere.
The sixth film in the franchise starred Kaitlyn Santa Juana, Teo Briones, Richard Harmon, Owen Patrick Joyner, Anna Lore, Rya Kihlstedt, Bassinger, and the late Tony Todd.
The official synopsis for the film reads, “Plagued by a violent recurring nightmare, college student Stefanie heads home to track down the one person who might be able to break the cycle and save her family from the grisly demise that inevitably awaits them all.”
