Raw Brigade just released their new album, 100%, via Flatspot Records. The Colombian hardcore band recorded two full-length versions of their album in English and Spanish, recorded with Jon Markson at The Animal Farm in New Jersey and Santiago Gonzalez at Sepia Studio in Bogotá. The result is a collection of songs that explore oppression, straight-edge pride, and corruption.
“We always try to have a general theme for each release,” vocalist Carlos Chavarriaga explains. “The last one was for our city, Bogota, and for our experience of being immigrants in another country, the one before that was mostly a Latino pride record. On this one, we decided to create a compilation of what we are as people, and as a band, that’s why the name is 100%. We are a straight-edge, old-school-style hardcore-punk band from Colombia/ Latinoamerica influenced by New York Hardcore bands from the ’80s. Lyrics cover everything from political to personal experience as Latinos and as straight-edge people.”

Ahead of the album’s release, Raw Brigade dropped a documentary titled 100% that gives an insight into the band’s history and the impact they’ve had on hardcore music in Colombia. The 15-minute film features the band’s origin story, including shots from the tattoo parlour where they met and interviews with the band, industry peers, and fans.
The band will embark on a U.S. tour as support for Agnostic Front next month. Check out the 100% documentary and the upcoming tour dates below.
