A wave of second-season orders has come in from streamers and networks, several of them before the first season had even finished airing. Here’s what’s confirmed for each, newest first.
Anna Pigeon (USA Network)
USA renewed the drama on October 7, two days before the Season 1 finale (Friday, October 9, at 10/9c). Tracy Spiridakos stars, with Paulina Alexis, Ronnie Rowe, Tricia Helfer and Kim Coates in the cast. Showrunner Morwyn Brebner and director Lea Thompson are returning. Based on Nevada Barr’s novels, the show premiered in August. No Season 2 premiere date yet.

Imperfect Women (Apple TV)
Kerry Washington returns as Eleanor and will executive produce a new story centered on her character. Elisabeth Moss, a star of Season 1, comes back as an executive producer, though the announcement doesn’t say whether she or Kate Mara will appear on screen. Season 2 is an original story, not based on Araminta Hall’s novel, from creator Annie Weisman and new co-showrunner Justin Hillian (The Chi, Snowfall). Eleanor returns to Martha’s Vineyard, where she uncovers secrets that challenge her view of her past.

A Different World (Netflix)
Netflix renewed the sequel on October 2, about eight days after its September 24 debut. Season 1 opened at No. 4 on Netflix’s global English TV chart with 4.2 million views and Top 10 placement in 15 countries. Maleah Joi Moon stars as Deborah Wayne, with Kadeem Hardison, Jasmine Guy, Cree Summer and Darryl M. Bell returning. Felicia Pride is the creator and showrunner; Debbie Allen is an executive producer and director. Season 2 picks up as the students begin sophomore year at Hillman College, and a Netflix executive’s mention of “next year” points to a 2027 return.

Neagley (Prime Video)
The Reacher spinoff was renewed weeks after its September 16 premiere, which fell on the same day as the Reacher Season 4 finale. Prime Video says Season 1 reached 40 million viewers globally in its first 13 days, making it the platform’s No. 4 most-watched original series debut. Maria Sten leads, with Alan Ritchson guest starring as Jack Reacher. Nick Santora and Nicholas Wootton co-showrun. No Season 2 date yet.

The Beast in Me (Netflix)
Reported September 24, the renewal brings back Claire Danes, who stars and executive produces, with Howard Gordon returning as co-showrunner alongside executive producer Daniel Pearle. Matthew Rhys will not return; his character, Nile Jarvis, was arrested and then killed in prison in the Season 1 finale. Season 1 debuted in November, earned nine Emmy nominations including one for Danes, and Rhys won Lead Actor in a Limited or Anthology Series. No Season 2 premiere date or plot details yet.

Crew Girl (Netflix)
Netflix renewed the Canadian rowing drama on September 22, about twelve days after its September 10 premiere of eight episodes. Miku Martineau stars as Teagan Tao, a teen rowing prodigy who becomes coxswain for the boys’ varsity crew team at her new Massachusetts school after her father’s embezzlement scheme wipes out the family’s finances. Sam Braun, Kyle Clark and Jessica Paré are in the cast. Creator Vivian Lin is also showrunner. No Season 2 date announced.

Elle (Prime Video)
The Legally Blonde prequel was renewed in January, before Season 1 premiered on July 1. Lexi Minetree stars as a teenage Elle Woods. Laura Kittrell created the series and co-showruns with Caroline Dries; Reese Witherspoon is an executive producer.

Scrubs (ABC)
ABC renewed the revival on April 30, two weeks after its nine-episode run ended on April 15. Zach Braff, Donald Faison and Sarah Chalke are series regulars, with Judy Reyes, John C. McGinley and Robert Maschio recurring. Season 2 dropped Episodes 1 & 2 on September 30th and is airing now!

All’s Fair (Hulu)
Hulu renewed Ryan Murphy’s Kim Kardashian-led legal drama on November 24, 2025. Season 2 is set to return on November 4, 2026.

The takeaway
Fast renewals are now the norm, with Netflix and Prime Video both locking in second seasons within days or weeks of a premiere!
