Passing on business deals wasn’t in Kris Jenner’s playbook for building her multi-billion-dollar empire… and this old footage of her selling witchy candles is proof of it!
The year is 2005: Kim Kardashian is working for Paris Hilton, Kourtney Kardashian makes her reality TV debut in Filthy Rich: Cattle Drive, Khloé Kardashian is celebrating her 21st birthday, and Kris Jenner is sitting pretty at the dawn of her family’s empire after working with magic candles and hosting an infomercial about them years prior!

Before the KarJenners crashed onto the scene with Keeping Up with the Kardashians in 2007, you may remember seeing the family’s fearless leader on your screens years before. At some point in the mid-late ’90s (or early ’00s as some sources say), Kris partnered up with metaphysician Dr. Linda Salvin to try and sell a “spiritual” line of candles cooked up by Salvin called Wicks of Wisdom. A nearly 30-minute-long infomercial opens with a narrator going on and on about the ancient powers of candles:
“Please listen closely as we reveal the amazing power of candles. For more than 5,000 years, burning essential oils, herbs, and powders has been a vital and treasured part of spiritual and religious ceremonies from cultures all over the globe. Drawing from historical and ancient teachings, Linda Salvin, a world-renowned psychic medium and healer, has spent years refining and perfecting the right combination of spiritually charged ingredients for today’s individuals, and is now reintroducing many of these sacred formulas by creating Wicks of Wisdom candles. Linda’s wish for you is that Wicks of Wisdom candles can help you send positive requests to the universe to lift blocks and obstacles so you can enhance the quality of your life.”
Customer testimonials promised Wicks of Wisdom “enhances your spirituality” and more. Yes, before becoming everyone’s favorite Momager and the queen of business deals, this is something Kris got behind!
At around the 2:06 mark, Kris comes forward in a white pantsuit, her signature flippy hair, and determination to entice customers:
“Once in a very long while, a truly remarkable product comes our way that challenges what we think and can dramatically improve our lives. Hello, I’m Kris Jenner. In the next few moments, you’re going to discover a product that is so powerful, it can enhance your life forever. And I have it right here. These are Wicks of Wisdom, and it’s the special formulas that are added to these unique candles that make them so amazing. The powerful effects that they can bring to the people who burn them are truly extraordinary. So open your mind the possibility of making your dreams and your wishes come true. Skeptical? You don’t have to believe. Just watch.”
More customer testimonials go on to flash across the screen, some claiming the manifestation candles helped them find love, buy homes, get promotions, and more.
Kris then returns to the screen, describing Salvin as “the nation’s leading radiopsychic, whose program has been heard all over the world.” Salvin then joins Kris, and the two continue to rave about the candles… but never really explain how the candles actually work their so-called magic. LOLz! We bet Kris absolutely LOVES IT every time this video pops back up on her radar.
On her website, Salvin claims Wicks of Wisdom candles can potentially assist in various areas of life — love, abundance, spirituality, and even health! Hmm… well we know they can at least provide comfort with a warm glow and a calming scent! But definitely always consult your medical doctor for any advice regarding health.
And look, the candles weren’t cheap. For a set, they ran customers $99! Damn! We wonder if Kris got her 10 percent back then… LOLz! And these days they’re over $200! Yowza!!
A lot of people will be quick to note they think anything metaphysical is bogus, but others will point out Kris is clearly living an extremely charmed life now, so…. Does she have the candles to thank for it? Did they really assist her in building her one-of-a-kind empire?
