Zendaya fans reacted to the release of the Euphoria Season 3 trailer, which confirms Rue’s return to the series. HBO shared the preview ahead of the show’s premiere, marking the first new footage from the drama in four years.
Euphoria Season 3 fans can’t wait for Zendaya and Sydney Sweeney’s return
The first trailer for Euphoria Season 3 confirms the return of Zendaya as Rue and Sydney Sweeney as Cassie. HBO announced that the season will premiere on April 12, 2026, with a storyline that takes place five years after the events of Season 2.
Rue, played by Zendaya, clashes with drug dealers and faces pressure from violent debt collectors. Cassie, portrayed by Sydney Sweeney, marries Nate (Jacob Elordi) and works as an online content creator, sparking conflict as Nate strongly disapproves of her work.
Returning cast includes Hunter Schafer, Alexa Demie, Maude Apatow, Chloe Cherry, and Colman Domingo. Domingo told Deadline, “We’re gonna have a devastatingly gorgeous, epic season that I think is breaking the mold of television. I think it’s gonna become more cinema than television.”
Newcomers to the cast include Sharon Stone, Rosalía, Natasha Lyonne, Danielle Deadwyler, and Marshawn Lynch. Oscar-winning composer Hans Zimmer joins the season. Creator Sam Levinson said, “The one thing we all agreed on is we can’t go back to high school… Five years felt like a natural place [to jump]” (via The Hollywood Reporter).
Jules, played by Schafer, enters the sugar baby lifestyle while studying art, and Maddie navigates a similar path. Nate appears bloodied in one scene, and Rue faces multiple dangerous encounters throughout the trailer. The official logline states, “A group of childhood friends wrestle with the virtue of faith, the possibility of redemption, and the problem of evil.”
