GILT have released their new single “Seattle Day 2,” out via Smartpunk Records. The song, their first in four years, is a crushing release from the self-described “nü emocore” band, with vocalist Asha Locke unleashing screams that mirror the feeling of being restrained and confined.
“‘Seattle Day 2’ references the name of a bossfight with The Rat King in the popular The Last of Us game series,” guitarist/vocalist Tyler Fieldhouse says. “It’s directly about succumbing to your worst self and is intended to feel inescapable. It comes with an accompanying classic core-era music video featuring influencer Kace Valentine in a campy horror subplot as a possessed YouTuber, linking to the album’s overall theme of media oversaturation and escapism.”

The video begins like a typical reaction clip before spiraling into something insidious and unsettling, driven by a powerful performance from GILT. Later this month, GILT will perform at the official Smartpunk Records South by Southwest showcase.
