Tame Impala got a lift in more ways than one last night (May 3) at Paris’ Accor Arena, first welcoming beloved French electronic duo Justice for a surprise 15-song opening set and then teaming with the group’s Gaspard Augé and Xavier de Rosnay later in its own set.
The Kevin Parker-led ensemble and Justice performed their Grammy-winning track “Neverender” as the third-to-last song of its set, marking just the second time they’ve teamed for it onstage. The first was in December in Sydney at Justice’s headlining show there, which Parker had opened with a DJ set. Tame Impala played the song for the first time by itself at its Oct. 27 Deadbeat tour opener in Brooklyn, N.Y.
As previously reported, Tame Impala will return to North America starting in July for a fresh round of touring with support from Djo on the first leg and Dominic Fike on the second. New dates begin July 7 in Miami and conclude Sept. 19 in Houston.
The shows come in continued support of Deadbeat, which debuted at No. 4 on the Billboard 200 and has spawned the giant streaming hit “Dracula.”
