Fans have been treated to not one, but two versions of Hawaii Five-0 over the years — and for many viewers the revamped version was just as good as the original.
The original Hawaii Five-0 premiered in 1968 and ran until 1980. The show followed an elite branch of the Hawaii State Police called Five-0, helmed by Steve McGarrett (Jack Lord) and his partner Danny Williams (James MacArthur).
The series was revived in 2010 by CBS for a second iteration. The show once again followed the Five-0 taskforce, led by Steve McGarrett (Alex O’Loughlin) while he was trying to solve his father’s murder following his military deployment.
After McGarrett teams up with former New Jersey cop Danny Williams (Scott Caan), the taskforce solves case after case on the Big Island, all while putting their ohana first. The show ended in 2020 after 10 seasons.
