Scarlett Johansson may be the highest-paid actress of 2025, but she’s the first to admit she’s not a perfect parent.
The Avengers star and mum-of-two, 41, spoke candidly about juggling work and motherhood on CBS Sunday Mornings.
“I think actually admitting that there is no work-life balance is the first step to kind of getting there in a way, because it’s just not possible,” said the two-time Oscar nominee.

Johansson shares daughter Rose with ex-husband and French journalist Romain Dauriac. She shares son Cosmo with husband and Saturday Night Live comedian Colin Jost.
She said success looks different to her as a parent then in her career.
“Somebody once told me, ‘If you’re successful as a parent like 75 per cent of the time, that’s good’ – if you’re doing 75 per cent of it like right, then you’re winning, which is probably true,” she told host Jane Pauley on the show.

The Jurassic World Rebirth star then said even as parent “you’re not always the most popular”.
”And that’s OK. It’s not about popularity,” she laughed.
With three films in the works and a new skin care range, Johansson said she’s learned to be “more kind” to herself.
She’s realised you can’t do everything nor control everything all the time – being “good enough” is just as fine.
She said when she realised she can’t control everything, she “found that to be liberating”.
Johansson and Jost met in 2006 – she was a guest host on Saturday Night Live (SNL), where he was a writer.
They however didn’t get to know each other properly until May 2017, months after her split from her second husband and father of her daughter, Romain Dauriac.
Johansson and Jost confirmed their relationship by the end of 2017, eventually announcing their engagement in May 2019.
The actress and SNL comedian tied the knot a year later and welcomed their son Cosmo together in August 2021.
“I feel very fortunate that I’ve been able to take this time to really enjoy the early stages of my motherhood with our son,” she shared with Entertainment Tonight at the time.
“It’s been wonderful. I’m in a baby bliss bubble.”
