Welcome back… Prime Video revealed their full official trailer for Season 3 of the hit series The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power and it’s packed with major footage recalling The Return of the King. Season 2 arrived in 2024 and wasn’t as big of a hit – but they’re still continuing this Middle Earth story and Season 3 is ready to rock. “We are, all of us, on the path to ruin now.” Indeed. Moving ahead years from the events of Season 2, this takes place at the height of the War of the Elves and Sauron, as the Dark Lord seeks to craft the ring that will give him the edge he needs to win the war & conquer all Middle-earth. Benjamin Walker stars as High King Gil-galad, with Owain Arthur, Cynthia Addai-Robinson, Ismael Cruz Cordova, Charlie Vickers, Daniel Weyman, Robert Aramayo, & Morfydd Clark, plus newcomer Jamie Campbell Bower (as Galadriel’s long-lost husband Celeborn). New additions also include Eddie Marsan as King Durin’s brother Thrain; Andrew Richardson as Isildur’s younger brother Anarion; and Adam Young as Marnûkh, a mysterious Orc who may not be what he seems. This final trailer gives us a better look at all the important main characters in Season 3, along with many epic battles waged across the lands of Middle Earth. The Balrog still looks awesome, as do all the fights. Sauron also finally completes his One Ring just as the Elves catch up to him. Let’s hope Season 3 is much better! Who’s planning to watch it?

In Season 3, Middle-earth is at war. 5 years have passed since the fall of Eregion. Sauron’s armies have marched across the whole of the world, conquering all in their path. A few isolated pockets stand between the Dark Lord and total victory – Khazad-dûm, where the Dwarves are now sealed deep within their mountain halls, and the elven realms of Lindon & Rivendell, which are protected by their Three Rings. But deep in the land of Mordor, in his newly completed tower of Barad-dûr, the Dark Lord toils day and night, obsessed with harnessing a power that will bring the last of his enemies to their knees: One Ring to rule them all… Now, the free peoples of Middle-earth – Dwarves, Elves, Men, Wizards alike – must find a way to come together, in a race against time to prevent Sauron from achieving his goal of utter domination…
