Criminal Minds is building its final profile.
The crime procedural—renamed Criminal Minds: Evolution after moving from CBS to Paramount+ in 2022—will end with its forthcoming 20th season, set to premiere in 2027.
“It’s hard to put into words what Criminal Minds has meant to all of us who have been fortunate enough to be part of this extraordinary journey,” showrunner Erica Messer told The Hollywood Reporter in an Oct. 30 statement. “While suddenly navigating the end of this chapter, I’m filled with gratitude for our remarkable cast, writers, directors and crew who have poured their hearts into this show.”
She added, “We’re looking forward to sharing season 20 with everyone, and celebrating the legacy of this special show we’ve all built together.”
Criminal Minds debuted in 2005, with Mandy Patinkin, Thomas Gibson, Shemar Moore, Matthew Gray Gubler, A. J. Cook, Kirsten Vangsness and Lola Glaudini on the case as a group of criminal profilers who work for the FBI’s Behavioral Analysis Unit.
