Céline Dion shocked attendees when she made her grand return to the Grammys in February.
The My Heart Will Go On singer appeared on stage to present the pinnacle award of the evening to Taylor Swift.
Speaking with People, Dion revealed that she was nervous to get up on stage amid her battle with Stiff-Person Syndrome.

”It was going to be my first time [back at the Grammys], and I didn’t want to feel wobbly. I was going to be very, very nervous and happy at the same time,” she told the publication.
The rare autoimmune neurological disorder can cause the singer to spasm if she becomes overstimulated.
“The applause… am I going to have a shock by seeing [the audience]? I didn’t want anything bad to happen,” she added. “Now I have heels and a dress that has a big opening on the leg, and I’m not sure if my legs are ready at that time. It was a lot.”

Dion was accompanied on stage by her 23-year-old son René-Charles, adding that his presence was what helped her remain calm.
“I was so proud of my son asking me every two minutes before I was on stage, ‘Mom, are you OK?’ I said, I’m fine, I’m really fine’,” she shared.
When she appeared on stage, Dion received a standing ovation from the crowd. She said that as soon as she heard the applause, she felt right at home.
“When I felt that love, I had no doubt that [this is what] I miss and what I want,” she explained. “To see that I’m still in it and that they allowed me to be there… I enjoyed every moment.”

And when it comes to being given the opportunity to present an award to Swift, one of the world’s biggest stars at the moment, Dion said she couldn’t be more flattered and impressed by the young pop star.
“It was an honor for me that they thought of me to present to Taylor Swift,” she told People. “It was [her] fourth [time] winning this award, which is exceptional.”
