Tabitha Brown, or as social media sometimes affectionately refers to her, “Auntie Tab,” has become quite the mogul. We caught up with her at the luncheon for her brand Donna’s Recipe.
Having lent her likeness to a plethora of products for Target – staple seasonings for your cabinet, best selling books, and an Emmy Award Winning Children’s show- none of these are quite as personal as the hair care line co-founded with multi-million dollar purpose-driven Brand Builder (and best friend), Gina Woods, the vegan friendly Donna’s Recipe.
The Founders not only talk the talk about clean living but also walk the walk, which means sourcing ingredients that are beneficial not only inside and out but also head to toe.
The ladies gave you the Sweet Potato Pie Collection, so what better than to top that decadent dessert than with Whipped Vanilla Cream finishing products. The line is already award winning, so there is no doubt that the latest additions will follow suit.
Press Pass LA had the esteem honor of attending the launch party held in West Hollywood at the World Famous Plant-Based Mexican Staple, Gracias Madre, which happens to be celebrating its 10 year anniversary this September.
The patio was transformed into a celebratory oasis as guests entered donning (no pun intended) all white before being treated to a meticulously curated menu by Executive Chef Diane H. Briscoe. The menu had us all second guessing going full vegan from the deliciousness that our palates experienced. As the laughter filled the air, Tabitha went around the tables asking individuals to name their crowns as she had so affectionately done and give the reason behind it. I let it be known that mine is called, “Dasha Fierce” with the D for my first name and as an ode to my favorite entertainer’s (Beyoncé) alter ego, Sasha Fierce, because we are both always ready to perform!
Gift bags contained the entire line which includes the Curl Defining Mousse, Blow Dry & Heat Protectant Spray, Curl Enhancing Gel, and the ULTIMATE game changer Edge Control. This line is free of parabens, sulfates, silicone, and contains the superhero of hair care ingredients biotin. Did we mention the heavenly smell? We had to control ourselves not to transfer our spoons from Chef Diane’s sensational desserts to sample just a smidge of what Donna was serving (we aren’t that simple, LOL).
As the afternoon concluded, we gave our hugs, placed our prayers in the box towards the exit, and left feeling amazing from head to toe. Great food, great company, great hair care products, a truly guiltless day. That doesn’t come around too often. Blessed would be an understatement.
