Blumhouse’s Speak No Evil has earned James McAvoy’s best Rotten Tomatoes score in a decade. The movie is a remake of the Danish film of the same name, following the Dalton family (Mackenzie Davis, Scott McNairy, and Alix West Lefler), who vacation in an isolated home with new friends Paddy (James McAvoy), Ciara (Aisling Franciosi), and their son Ant (Dan Hough), at which point a series of awkward incidents quickly grow sinister. The Speak No Evil release follows the original movie to theaters by just two years.
Ahead of the wide release debut of Speak No Evil, critics have been able to share their reviews of the movie online. Rotten Tomatoes has aggregated 45 of these reviews at the time of writing, giving the movie a debut score of 87% on the platform. While the score may fluctuate as more reviews are added over the weekend and beyond, it is currently the highest score for a James McAvoy movie since 2014’s X-Men: Days of Future Past, which earned a Certified Fresh 90% score.
