Some current feedback made by A$AP Rocky about who precipitated the present state of hip-hop seem to have Soulja Boy responding.
On Monday (June 13), Interview journal ran a function with A$AP Rocky chopping it up with comic Jerrod Carmichael. Through the speak, Rocky was requested in regards to the state of hip-hop.
“Rap is in its adolescence and it’s been caught right here since Soulja Boy,” Rocky responded. “Earlier than, all people appeared 35 and up. When Lil Wayne and Jay-Z and T.I. and Jeezy and [Rick] Ross was on, rappers appeared previous. Like, we had Lil’ Bow Wow and that was it. That each one modified with the web and self-releasing. Now, rap is caught on this braggadocious, adolescent area. It’s not as mature.”
A$AP Rocky added, “However the factor is, being a rapper now, you don’t need to exclude anyone or neglect any demographics. As someone that individuals look as much as, there’s a duty to place folks on the appropriate path.”
Soulja Boy has since appeared to response to the A$AP Rocky name-drop.
“Come on, man. Cease listening to folks, bro,” Soulja stated in an Instagram Dwell video. “Niggas do not know what the fuck they speaking about, on gang. That is what I came upon, bro. These niggas do not be realizing what the fuck they speaking about, bro. Niggas be on my Instagram, niggas be on Twitter, niggas be in individual speaking… about nothing. Bro, what’s you speaking about, bro? What’s you speaking about? Niggas be speaking about all the pieces however find out how to get some cash.”
It’s unclear if the Harlem, N.Y. rapper’s feedback had been meant to be a slight. Prior to now, A$AP Rocky has spoken about his admiration of Soulja Boy. In 2019, Fairly Flacko stated if it wasn’t for Soulja Boy, there could be no A$AP Rocky.
