Austin Abrams (‘Whalefall’, ‘Resident Evil’, ‘Weapons’) answers questions from /r/movies community members.

Actors Austin Abrams and Josh Brolin, alongside director Brian Duffield & writer Daniel Kraus, joined us for an AMA/Q&A last week. That can be found here. It was an in-person event for r/movies, where members of the community were treated to a complimentary screening of Whalefall in 4DX (at Regal Times Square), along with food & drinks, followed by an in-person AMA/Q&A with Austin, Josh, Brian, and Daniel. Here are some photos from the event.

Austin stopped by yesterday to answer a few more questions via video.

Here are the original questions for anyone interested.

Question #1 from /u/skellingtonjacks:

Did you have a favorite scene that you shot?

Question #2 from u/MobileResident5527:

How did you and Josh prepare to play father and son? What do you hope viewers take away from Mitt and Jay's relationship?

Question #3 from u/Adeline_Hayes:

The trailer gave me chills. Did the production work with marine biologists to get the whale's behavior right? Asking as a nature documentary addict

Question #4 from /u/Weary_Hunt_3374:

Since Whalefall is a book to screen adaptation, what's your favorite book to screen adaptation that you've seen recently (or ever)? Why did you like it? And, did you read the book it was based on?

Question #5 from u/MobileResident5527:

Did bringing this story to life change how you and the team feel about the ocean at all?

Thanks to everyone for the questions and for the 4 guests for joining us in person and again virtually yesterday. Please keep an eye out for more r/movies-exclusive in-person events.
