To celebrate their 30th anniversary, Hopeless Records has revived their classic Hopelessly Devoted To You compilation series, and they’re having bands on the label now cover classic songs from throughout their history. The latest of those covers is from Bayside, taking on the Weakerthans‘ essential Left and Leaving track “Aside,” which was originally featured in volume 4 of the compilation in 2002. They add a little pop-punk sheen with their cover but deliver a mostly faithful rendition, and you can hear it below.
Other Hopelessly Devoted To You 30th Anniversary covers out now include NOAHFINNCE‘s take on Waterparks‘ “I Miss Having Sex But At Least I Don’t Wanna Die Anymore,” Point North‘s cover of Avenge Sevenfold’s “Unholy Confessions,” and the Wonder Years‘ take on Thrice‘s “Deadbolt.” Hear those below, and see the full planned tracklist so far below.
