As the Los Angeles wildfires continue to sweep through neighborhoods, celebrities are using their platforms to advocate for families who have lost their homes and belongings.

Ravaging neighborhoods in Altadena, Malibu and Pacific Palisades, the Los Angeles County wildfires have so far resulted in at least 24 deaths and the destruction of roughly 12,300 structures as of Monday morning, according to the California Department of Forestry and Fire Protection.

With over 40,000 acres burned and more than 100,000 people currently under mandatory evacuation orders, some of Hollywood’s biggest names are stepping up to support those affected. Stars like Beyoncé, Jennifer Garner, Eva Longoria, Angelina Jolie and Jamie Lee Curtis, among others, are lending their hands to relief efforts.

Beyoncé pledged $2.5 million through her BeyGOOD charitable foundation’s L.A. Fire Relief Fund to support families in Altadena and Pasadena devastated by the Eaton Fire, as well as churches and community centers.

Jennifer Garner, who has lived in the Pacific Palisades area for 25 years, joined forces with chef José Andrés and World Central Kitchen to distribute meals to families displaced by the fires. The actress spent a day volunteering at food stations, helping distribute fresh meals to evacuees.

“I think all of us, we want to get our hands into working somehow, to be helpful,” she told MSNBC on Jan. 10. “I was able to just say [to Andrés], ‘Can I be with you for the day? What can I do to help? Put me to work.’”

Meghan Markle and Prince Harry also made a visit to support wildfire relief efforts in Pasadena, Calif., through World Central Kitchen. On Jan. 10, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex distributed meals and essential supplies, and met with first responders and families at the Pasadena Convention Center.

The couple also opened their Montecito, Calif., home to friends and their loved ones displaced by the wildfires, People reported.

Eva Longoria pledged $50,000 to match donations for This Is About Humanity’s efforts to support frontline workers, day laborers and families affected by the fires.

“My heart breaks for the City of L.A.,” the actress wrote on Instagram on Jan. 12. “I hope we can come together and support these resilient members of our community.”

Kristen Bell is also raising awareness about thoughtful donation practices after volunteering at a fire relief center in Los Angeles. In an Instagram video, Bell and the actress Joy Bryant emphasized the importance of donating clean, intact items.

“We just wanted to remind everyone when you’re giving things, if you wouldn’t give it to your best friend, maybe don’t give it,” she explained. “Just because we want to be as respectful and dignified as possible. If you’re going to give blankets or clothing, wash them first.”

The rapper Snoop Dogg has turned his clothing store in Inglewood, Calif., into a donation center for wildfire survivors. The store is accepting donations until Jan. 14.

“We still have a long road ahead, but together, we’ll get through it,” the store posted on Instagram.

Jolie and her 16-year-old son Knox were seen loading groceries into their vehicle on Jan. 9. In a video obtained exclusively by the Daily Mail, the Maria star revealed that she intends to donate to wildfire relief efforts.

“I will. Right now, I’m taking care of people close to me and having them at my house,” she said.

Curtis, a Pacific Palisades resident, shared on Instagram that she and her family will be donating $1 million to wildfire relief efforts.

“My husband and I and our children have pledged $1 million from our Family Foundation to start a fund of support for our great city and state and the great people who live and love there,” she wrote on Jan. 9.

The Last Showgirl actress wrote in a separate post a day earlier, “Our beloved neighborhood is gone. Our home is safe. So many others have lost everything. Help where you can. Thank you to the first responders and firefighters.”

On Jan. 8, Basic Instinct actress Sharon Stone appeared on NewsNation’s Banfield to share her plans for helping families who have been displaced due to the wildfires. With the help of her sister and a publicist friend, Stone is encouraging Los Angeles residents to donate items to a local store called the Coop, owned by real estate agent Jenna Cooper.

“If you have gently used clothes, shoes, bedding, anything that these disenfranchised people may need, please come immediately to the Coop, starting [Jan. 9] at 10, and you can drop them off,” she said. “If you need things, come to the Coop. This is for people who need any of these things, please come there. This is where you can get them, it’s a distribution center.”

Stone has also opened her home to friends and family.

“I have families coming now to move in with us,” added Stone. “We’re setting up a place to be able to help people. We’re setting up beds and just room in the house. … We’re loading up trucks and taking everything we have over to the Coop, and we’re inviting our friends over to move in with us here.”

Following the lead of her Catwoman co-star, Halle Berry announced on Jan. 9 that she is “packing up my entire closet” for the Coop.

“This is something we can do right now today to help all of the displaced families that are in need of the basics today,” wrote Berry.
