Production is officially swinging ahead on Marvel Studios and Sony Pictures’ upcoming Spider-Man: Brand New Day, and some fresh set photos are giving fans a first look at the return of Scorpion.
The movie marks the fourth solo outing for Tom Holland as Peter Parker and is directed by Destin Daniel Cretton, known for Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings. The film is set to hit theaters next summer as part of the MCU’s Phase 6 lineup.
Scooper MyTimeToShineHello recently shared several behind-the-scenes images on social media and they feature Michael Mando back in action as Mac Gargan, aka Scorpion.
The actor, who first appeared in Spider-Man: Homecoming back in 2017, is seen wearing a sleek white suit. In one shot, Mando appears to be handcuffed.
Meanwhile, more set photos surfaced online showing Holland suited up once again as the web-slinger. As spotted by @AllOnFilm, Holland’s updated Spider-Man costume looks battle-ready, while @captaincupkicks posted a distant shot of Holland holding what seems to be the script for the film. Unfortunately, the image is too blurry to make out any story details.
Marvel is keeping plot details tightly guarded, but Spider-Man: Brand New Day is going to be one of the most anticipated entries in the MCU’s next phase. Alongside Holland and Mando, the returning cast includes Zendaya as MJ, Jacob Batalon as Ned Leeds, Jon Bernthal as Frank Castle/Punisher, Mark Ruffalo as Bruce Banner/Hulk, and Marvin Jones III as Lonnie Lincoln/Tombstone.
Newcomers Sadie Sink, Liza Colón-Zayas, and Trammel Tillman have also joined the cast in undisclosed roles. There are still conflicting reports about whether Charlie Cox’s Daredevil will make an appearance.
Spider-Man: Brand New Day hits theaters on July 31, 2026, setting up the stage for the next wave of massive MCU events, including Avengers: Doomsday arriving on December 16, 2026, and Avengers: Secret Wars on December 17, 2027.
