The Real Housewives of Orange County is celebrating 20 years of Sky tops, friendships, and memories. These women have been navigating motherhood, relationships, and friendships all while making a TV show. That does not mean that everything is perfect. Gina is irked with Heather about financial comments and Jenn wonders where she truly stands with Tamra. Vicki continues to avoid Carmella and Shannon navigates difficult decisions. And that is why we viewers keep coming back for more…20 years later.
The moms are doing their best to be present for their kids and make sure they are heading down the right track. Emily is happy to spend one-on-one time with her daughter, Annabelle, considering she was hyper-focused on her son for the last few months. Speaking of sons, Jenn is struggling with her youngest. And although Gina seems to have her hands full with her kids, she certainly has her head on straight when it comes to a prenup and being privy to legal rights in her future marriage.
In the meantime, Shannon zooms with a dog psychic. Archie hates the vet and all Shannon wants to do is keep him happy. The psychic explains that Archie might take a turn and he does not want this long drawn out process. Shannon is devastated, considering he has been the man of the house for so long, on top of being her best friend. They decide to go ahead with the radiation to try anything to help him.
Tamra, Jenn, and Carmella head out on a tiki boat for a daytime hang. They throw back some tequila and Tamra questions Carmella about her adderall intake. Carmella admits that it is something she should wean off of and try to figure out a more natural way of functioning, as it has limited her plans.
The more important question is how Carmella is going to deal with Vicki. She was NOT invited to her party, but Jenn and Tamra egg Carmella on, telling her she should attend to tell her to stop for once and for all. Tamra wants Carmella to put her foot down already.
Heather hangs with her mom to discuss the LA art scene. Her mother is happy to be there, but Heather wants her to make more of an effort with the grandkids, considering Ace feels estranged from his grandmother. Heather’s mom points out that Heather has a hard time laughing at herself, but Heather feels like it is because she is always tiptoeing around her mom.
Gina shows up to help Vicki plan the 20 year anniversary part of RHOC. This event will be held in Coto, the first place Gina lived when she moved to the west coast. Vicki is proud of this journey that started behind the gates and makes it clear that Skytops are absolutely necessary to wear for the event.
Vicki rattles off the guest list, but is not sure what to do with Carmella. Vicki did not like her disrespectful comments about an expiration date. Vicki also wonders how Gina feels after the women questioned her spending in Tokyo. Gina explains that she has been very fiscally responsible for years and it is not Heather’s concern.
Carmella talks about how she has stayed legally tied with her (ex)husband, Jeff, for business purposes. They are making money and saving until their youngest graduates so they can divide what they built up together during a divorce. Carmella admits that they are a good team, despite being separated.
Jenn and Ryan touch base. Jenn feels overwhelmed about being everything for the kids all the time. Ryan volunteers to help out, but Jenn is concerned about the pressure it may put on their relationship.
Emily, Heather, and Shannon head out on a bar crawl. The main focus is finding a man for Shannon, but Emily is getting the most male attention. The night wears on and Shannon scores a phone number. Mission accomplished.
Heather has heard that Tamra is trying to ice her out on purpose. She admits to Jenn that she felt left out in Tokyo and Jenn wonders if she is a pawn in Tamra’s ploy. This is messy. Heather believes that the other people in the group have been talking in their ears and it’s annoying.
It’s the day of the party and 20 years of Orange County familiar faces roll in. Jeana Keough and Vicki reminisce about the past seasons. Jo and Peggy arrive rocking their Sky tops and Lizzie reunites with the crew. Lynne talks about the wonderful platform the show has been for her jewelry line and even Vicki’s receptionist makes an appearance.
As the rest of the girls enter, Vicki is surprised to see Carmella, but greets her in the fakest way possible. Emily calls Vicki out for not wanting toxicity and wonders the reason behind Vicki’s problem with Carmella. Tamra tries to fire Vicki up and Teddi points out that if Vicki keeps saying she doesn’t care, perhaps she really does care.
Carmella has been kind long enough and so when she confronts Vicki everyone is locked in. Carmella calls it a little uncomfortable and Heather and Tamra run to their sides to help negotiate the reconciliation. Carmella does not want to get to know Vicki and in the end, they agree to disagree.
Jenn wonders how suddenly she is besties with Tamra and asks her outright if this friendship is genuine. Jenn points out that Gina and Emily conveyed that possibly they were this close to take pokes at Heather. Tamra calls this sh*t stirring, and if anyone knows what that it is, it is certainly Tamra. Jenn is realizing that she is sabotaging things that matter, but Tamra speaks genuinely to her, claiming to love her.
Gina explains that she could not be thinking about the fun wedding stuff until she got the legal things under control. Gina shares that Travis wants a big celebration, but this conversation gets derailed by Jenn. Jenn wonders why all of this stuff gets twisted. Heather clearly feels left out and no one wants to be friends with her.
Gina pulls Heather aside. She wants to understand how Heather can be so sensitive about certain things, but not be sensitive about Gina’s real estate career. Heather flips and explains that Tamra was part of the conversation in Tokyo. Gina refuses to be looked at like this and throws in Heather’s face that she would never understand what it is like to financially support herself.
Gina finds it unfair that Heather is criticizing her financial situation considering she had to figure it out herself. Heather spins this and makes it about Tamra. Heather points out that this was a group discussion that Tamra brought up. After all the bickering, they agree that they are good and move on.
In the end, Shannon is still looking for a man, but her friends have done a good job keeping her busy…well everyone except Tamra. Tamra got a new puppy to ease her empty nest syndrome and Emily and Heather have barely spoken since filming has ended. Jenn wants to keep working on her financial success and has finally chosen a wedding date.
Heather is still compartmentalizing her friends and Gina has yet to pick a date for a wedding, but is pouring everything into her work. Carmella is done with Danny for good, but continues to invest in new property development.
Vicki reflects on the 20 year journey and how the sisterhood they have created is the most important thing. An emotional Vicki explains that this is more than a tv show-this is her life. And although she is unsure where her love tank will take her, she is always going to whoop it up!
