Chanel Ayan opened up about her awkward first encounter with Carole Radziwill on Scheana Shay‘s podcast on Friday.
As she was also featured on Jeff Lewis‘ radio show, where she spoke of the voicemail she sent Jessel Taank, 46, about Erin Lichy, 39, which aired on a recent episode of The Real Housewives of New York City, and confirmed where she and Erin stand now, the 48-year-old Real Housewives of Dubai alum admitted to getting Carole, 63, mixed up with another Real Housewives star amid filming on The Real Housewives Ultimate Girls Trip: Roaring 20th.
“I flew into New York to film [RHUGT], and [Carole] was sitting next to me. Everyone was introducing themselves because I didn’t know who she was, and she was like, ‘I’m from New York.’ Immediately, in my head, I thought she’s the woman that doesn’t have legs,” Chanel recalled on the September 18 episode of Scheananigans, giving a nod to Aviva Drescher, 56.
“I don’t watch the shows that much, right? So you can get these clips of the housewives that’s iconic sometimes online. So I saw this woman throwing the leg, and I thought it was her,” she continued. “So, I go to her, ‘Oh my God, nice to meet you. How is your leg?’”
Right away, Carole was caught off-guard, asking, “What do you mean?”
“I’m like, ‘Do you have a nice leg? Like, how can you walk?’ She looks at me; she’s like, ‘I have legs.’ I’m like, ‘Do you have legs?’ And I’m like, ‘Is it new?’ And she goes, ‘I have legs.’ And she probably thought I was psychotic because I thought she was the woman that threw the leg on the ground,” Chanel explained.
“I thought she was mad at me because she really doesn’t want to talk about her leg, and I wanted to know how she walks with the leg,” she added.
Meanwhile, on SiriusXM’s Jeff Lewis Live, Chanel explained the voicemail she left for Jessel about Erin.
“We were on [Real Housewives: Ultimate Girls Trip: Roaring 20th] finale, and I literally had girls from [The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City], [The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills], because they saw me talking to Jessel, because I’m close to Jessel because of my cousin [Ubah Hassan] and [Sai de Silva], so when I’m in New York, I hang out with Jessel. I talked to Sai, was with Sai in Paris, so I know the girls, so it was just around over and over again. ‘Are you hearing what Erin is saying because I see you with Jessel?’ So, I was like, the next day, I called Jessel and I was like, ‘Hey, be careful,’ because at one point, Erin was friendly to her. I’m like, ‘Just pay attention,’” Chanel revealed.
According to Chanel, she’s not only connected to the RHONY cast through Ubah, 43, and Sai, 45, but also through Jessel, whose cousin is a friend of both hers and Caroline Stanbury‘s.
“There’s so much connection there,” she noted.
As for where she stands with Erin, Chanel confirmed, “I like Erin.”
“My husband [Chris Pillott] actually at BravoCon went drinking with Erin’s husband [Abe Lichy], so Erin—it’s nothing against her, it’s just I’m protecting my friend,” she stated.
