Chef (2014), Jon Favreau – "Everything good in my life happened because of this and I want to share that with you"

I don't understand how this movie is as compelling as it is, seeing as how the conflict gets resolved at the beginning of the 2nd act. Watching this formerly burnt out chef cooking it up with his kid and his sous in a food truck for almost an hour never got boring. I don't know if Jon Favreau ever worked in a professional kitchen but this felt so real to me. He either did a crapton of research for this movie or he'd spent all of his life cooking.
