There is perhaps no whirlwind Hollywood romance quite as enduring as the one shared by Chris Hemsworth and long-time love Elsa Pataky.
After only three months of dating, the pair tied the knot in a low-key Australian ceremony – and have never looked back.
Now, 15 years, three children and one particularly successful acting career later, Hemsworth, 42, has opened up about the couple’s secret to a happy marriage.
Speaking on Jay Shetty’s On Purpose podcast, the Thor actor gave rare insight into how his long and happy relationship has gone from strength to strength overtime.
First and foremost, Hemsworth credits the success of their union to “fun.”
He went on to say both “having an adventurous spirit, and making time for one another” was absolutely essential for a long-lasting bond.
“The complicated times have been when it’s been all work, all kids, and all of a sudden the ‘us’ in the relationship is … sort of non-existent, you’re just managing a household or the work family schedule,” Hemsworth said.

In a meet-and-marriage that typically spells ‘doom’ for Hollywood relationships, the superstar couple wed within three months of being set up by their agents in 2010.
Hemsworth and Pataky have both weathered the ups and downs of their respective careers, first meeting when the former was still a relative unknown on the world stage.
“In the beginning it was beautiful,” the Spanish actress told Vogue Australia in 2018.
“When I met him, he wasn’t known at all and I grew with him and experienced all his successes and changes, and then he became just so huge and I’ve been sharing that too.”

The pair have since welcomed daughter India, 13, and twin boys Sasha and Tristan, 11.
The Marvel Cinematic Universe alum admitted to Shetty that balancing the roles of husband, father and actor could sometimes prove tricky.
He mentioned “you’re just kind of managing a household or the work family schedule” most of the time, so it was important to take intentional time out with your partner.
“Sort of removing [ourselves] from all of that, and just having time for the two of us and making space for each other rather than the rest of the world that can be so all-consuming.”
In recent years, the couple have worked together to film the blockbuster Mad Max: Furiosa – with Hemsworth joking that it was like “date night”.
Some shocking news came for the couple in 2022, with Hemsworth discovering that he was at “high risk” of developing Alzheimer’s disease at any point.
