Claud has announced their new album, Me and the Music, out Oct. 23 via Dead Oceans.
“I was just sick of taking everything so seriously,” they say of the record. “Supermodels was such a serious record, and I just sulked in feelings for so long. Such terrible things have happened in this country in the last few years, but I’ve only grown closer to the people around me because of that. The world has shown me that the worst can happen, but it might just bring you closer to your community. There’s a difference between being sincere with life and taking life too seriously.”

Previewing the LP is “She Doesn’t Love Me,” framing America as a toxic partner. The video depicts Claud being stood up on dates and left hanging on calls before finding belonging within community — with Clairo, Samia, Annie DiRusso, Josh Mehling, and others making cameos in the final scene.
“I love the community I have in America and find so much optimism in people being united in seeking progress,” Claud says. “This is a love song for that community.”
