Mutation Teaser Trailer

Horror alert! Noori in Korea has revealed the first look teaser trailer for the French body horror film titled Sanguine (meaning “having a positive attitude and expecting a good outcome”), which is being translated into English as Species, though it’s also going under the title Mutation in Korea. It’s being described as “The Substance for the Burnout Generation” and it also comes directly from this year’s Cannes Film Festival line-up. After starting in Cannes, it’s playing at the Bucheon International Fantastic Film Festival (BIFAN) in Korea and will hit theaters in November there. Margot, a young intern at the most competitive hospital’s ER in the country, has trouble keeping up in this stressful environment. As she’s confronted with multiple patients her age presenting unusual symptoms, her own body starts to show disturbing changes… The film “explores bizarre symptoms afflicting young people under extreme stress & overwork.” With Mara Taquin, Karin Viard, Kim Higelin, Sami Outalbali. Reviews from Cannes were quite mixed, but they’re hoping to get the same crowd that loved The Substance (and all horror fans) into watching this as well. Get a peek.

Here’s the first Korean teaser trailer (+ poster) for Marion Le Coroller’s film Mutation, from YouTube:

“Face a new horror at the end of extreme overwork.” Margot (Mara Taquin) has just begun her internship in the emergency room but struggles to adapt to the demanding environment. One day, she encounters a series of patients her own age exhibiting unexplained symptoms & begins to question what’s happening. At the same time, increasingly disturbing changes begin to manifest in her own body. Mutation, also known as Sanguine (or Species) in French, is directed by French filmmaker Marion Le Coroller, director of the film Built 2 Kill and a few other short films previously. The screenplay is written by Marion Le Coroller and Thomas Pujol. It’s produced by Carole Lambert. This initially premiered at the 2026 Cannes Film Festival playing in the Midnight section earlier this year – it also played at FrightFest London and Fantasy Filmfest. It’s next playing at the Bucheon International Fantastic Film Festival (BIFAN) in Korea soon before opening in Korean cinemas starting November this fall. No US release date is set yet – stay tuned. Who’s intrigued?
