Creepy Forest Horror Thriller ‘The Arborist’ Trailer with Lucy Walters

“The world moves on… But for us, time is frozen in its tracks.” 🌳 Dark Sky Films has revealed their official trailer for the indie horror film titled The Arborist, formerly known as The Wound Wood when it first premiered last year. It played at the 2025 FrightFest London genre festival last year and is out to watch on VOD starting in February 2026 coming soon. A grief-stricken arborist and her son awaken a haunting when they begin felling trees at the estate of a mysterious recluse. Reviews add: “This creepy, low-grade horror film is largely an examination of guilt and grief set at an isolated mansion in the middle of a forest.” Starring Lucy Walters as Elle, Hudson West as her son Wyatt, with Will Lyman, Chloe Trejo, Bill Thorpe, and Danny Corbo. This looks like it was some very creepy aspects to it, especially with how haunting and eerie the woods are… Always something unsettling in creaky old forests. Check out the horror trailer below.

After suffering a devastating loss, grief-stricken arborist Ellie and her son are hired by mysterious recluse Arthur Randolph to fell the trees in part of his vast, remote estate. As Wyatt starts showing signs of erratic behaviour and falls prey to creature hallucinations, a past tragedy reveals itself, a haunting awakens, and Arthur discloses the real reason he chose them to clear the “Wound Wood”. The Arborist, formerly known as The Wound Wood, is written and directed by indie filmmaker Andrew Mudge, director of the film The Forgotten Kingdom previously, plus tons of other short films & a fw music videos as well. It’s produced by Michael Bowes, Krista Minto, Andrew Mudge, Nicholas Santos, Ross Saxon, Don Schechter. This initially premiered at the 2025 FrightFest London Festival last year. Dark Sky Films will debut Mudge’s The Arborist horror film direct-to-VOD to watch at home starting on February 6th, 2026 coming up. Want to watch?
