D23: The Ultimate Disney Fan Event lands in Anaheim today, and if you don’t have a Fan Pass in hand, don’t worry — this is genuinely one of the more streamable D23s in recent memory. Disney is putting seven major events live on Disney+ across the weekend, so you can catch most of the big stuff without fighting the standby line at the Anaheim Convention Center.
The event runs today through Sunday, spread across five stages at the Convention Center plus two massive showcases at the Honda Center. And with Josh D’Amaro now running the entire company as CEO and Thomas Mazloum stepping in as the new Disney Experiences Chairman, this year’s presentations carry a little extra weigh; it’s the first Horizons parks showcase under new leadership, and people are curious what direction that takes.

Today, Friday, August 14
- Beauty and the Beast: A Tale as Old as Time 35th Anniversary Celebration — 11 a.m.
- Disney Entertainment Showcase (Honda Center) — 7 to 9 p.m. This is traditionally where the biggest film and TV reveals land, covering everything from streaming originals to theatrical slate updates.
Saturday, August 15
- Percy Jackson and the Olympians Season 3 Panel — 3:30 p.m.
- Disney Rewind Encore Concert — 6:30 p.m.
- Horizons: A Carousel of Progress (Honda Center) — 7 p.m. Hosted by Neil Patrick Harris and built around a Carousel of Progress theme, this is the parks-and-experiences showcase, and it’s historically the single biggest announcement dump of the whole weekend. Expect Disneyland and Disney World construction updates, new artwork, and probably at least one gasp-worthy surprise.
Sunday, August 16
- The Disney Worldbuilders Panel — 10:15 a.m., the world premiere of Leslie Iwerks’ new feature-length documentary
- Disney Princess: The Ultimate Concert Celebration
- Disney Legends Awards Ceremony — 6 p.m. (a heads up: the actual ceremony happens earlier at the Honda Center, at 1:30 p.m., so the streamed version is on a delay). This year’s Legends class is stacked: Bob Iger, Dwayne Johnson and Lin-Manuel Miranda are among those being honored, with Ryan Seacrest hosting.
Beyond the streamed panels, the in-person program is massive this year with more than 50 sessions across the weekend, including a live recording of the Jonas Brothers’ “Hey Jonas!” podcast, a rare solo concert from Disney Legend Alan Menken, 35th and other milestone anniversary celebrations for Alice in Wonderland and Beauty and the Beast, and the ever-chaotic D23 Mousequerade costume contest.
Marvel doesn’t have a standalone panel this year; they went big at SDCC instead, but expect Marvel-adjacent news to surface across the Entertainment Showcase and other sessions regardless.
If you’re local and just want to feel the energy without a ticket, Downtown Disney and the general Anaheim resort area tend to get their own spillover buzz during D23 weekend, even outside the ticketed events.
