DC Studios has finally revealed more details on a much-anticipated series following a beloved Teen Titans character.
Executive produced by Josie Campbell and co-executive produced by Brianne Drouhard, Starfire! will be a retelling of the Tamaranean princess’ origin. Though it is a DC Studios production, the animated series will be an Elseworld project instead of being set in the main DC Universe timeline. Additionally, Starfire! will be an 11-minute show aiming for a child audience, in a similar vein to prior Teen Titans series. At this time, it is unclear what relation, if any, its story will have with prior iterations of Starfire as seen in Teen Titans and Teen Titans Go!.
At the 2026 Annecy International Animation Film Festival, DC Studios shared a few updates on the story and cast of the upcoming series. Despite likely being non-canon to the iconic 2003 show, Starfire! will honor it in two major ways. Fan-favorite actress Hynden Walch will reprise Starfire/Princess Koriand’r, a role she has voiced in various DC media since 2003. In another nod to Teen Titans, J-pop group Puffy AmiYumi will perform the theme song after doing so for the prior series over 20 years ago.
While the rest of the show’s voice cast has yet to be revealed, several DC characters will be joining Starfire on her cosmic journey. Her team will consist of: Crush, the daughter of Lobo; Fern, presumably referring to the daughter of Lady Quark and Lord Volt; and Amethyst, the princess of Gemworld.
During the festival, footage also showcased a fight between Starfire and her villainous sister Blackfire, who was also voiced by Walch in the 2003 series, Teen Titans Go!, and DC Superhero Girls. However, it is not confirmed whether she will be voicing both sisters in Starfire!. In addition to Blackfire, Lobo will also appear in the series as will Thanagarians, the race of Hawkman and Hawkgirl. Another key detail revealed is that the settings will include the Vega Galaxy and Gotham City. The latter location hints at a possible appearance from Robin.
Starfire! is not the only Teen Titans production currently in development at DC Studios. Supergirl writer Ana Noguiera is confirmed to pen the script, though no director or cast announcements have been revealed. As a result, it is likely a couple of years away from hitting theaters.
Nonetheless, though Starfire! will not be part of the DCU, Teen Titans fans have a lot to look forward to from the series. As of June 2026, Starfire! does not have a confirmed release date.
