Tucked inside West Hollywood’s iconic Pacific Design Center, Très LA Bistro & Café feels like the kind of place you’d stumble upon in Paris and immediately wish existed closer to home. Equal parts neighborhood café, stylish bistro, and design destination, the newly opened restaurant blends European sophistication with distinctly California sensibilities, creating one of the most visually stunning dining experiences in Los Angeles.
From the moment you step inside, it’s clear that design is as much a part of the experience as the food. Created by Très LA Group founder Alan Dunn, the space is layered with green lacquered walls, checkerboard floors, brass accents, marble finishes, velvet banquettes, curated bookshelves, and vintage-inspired décor. The result feels warm and inviting rather than overly formal. A glamorous hideaway that encourages guests to linger over cocktails and conversation long after dinner arrives.
The menu follows a similar philosophy, drawing inspiration from classic French bistro culture while embracing the freshness and diversity of California cuisine. Executive Chef Julio Castorena’s kitchen focuses on seasonal ingredients and approachable elegance, offering dishes that feel elevated without being pretentious.
By day, Très LA functions as a chic café, serving Intelligentsia coffee, French teas imported from Mariage Frères, fresh pastries, smoothies, and colorful açai and pitaya bowls. Croissants from local favorite La Chouquette pair perfectly with a cappuccino, while specialty drinks like the Strawberry Matcha Latte and Chagaccino provide a modern wellness-forward twist.
Dinner is where the restaurant truly comes alive. The bistro menu showcases California-inspired takes on classic favorites, complemented by handcrafted cocktails, a curated wine selection, and a lively bar scene. Whether you’re stopping in for a post-work happy hour, a date night, or a celebratory dinner, the atmosphere effortlessly transitions from daytime café to evening hotspot.
For our night on the town, we ordered the tuna tartare and kale caesar salad appetizer, the Chef’s special wild mushroom pappardelle and 12-hour burgundy slow braised short ribs with mashed potatoes, and the sticky toffee pudding for dessert, alongside signature cocktails. Nothing is more important than the quality of the food at a new restaurant, no matter how much you love the ambience and design, and in this case Très did not disapppint. The food was delicious — très magnifique!
One of Très LA’s greatest strengths is its versatility. It feels equally suited for a business lunch, a casual coffee meeting, or a special night out. It’s spacious indoor dining and lounge areas, plus outdoor patio, and easy flow also make it perfect for hosting a big event. The restaurant’s location inside the Pacific Design Center only adds to its appeal, making it a natural gathering place for creatives, designers, and West Hollywood locals looking for a stylish escape from the city’s usual dining scene.
Los Angeles certainly isn’t lacking in beautiful restaurants, but Très LA manages to stand out by creating an experience that feels both luxurious and welcoming, in part due to the smiles of the staff from the host stand to the bar. With its thoughtful design, approachable French-inspired menu, and prime West Hollywood location, the restaurant delivers exactly what every great neighborhood bistro should: a space you’ll want to return to again and again.
