The Marvel Cinematic Universe isn’t exactly known for going small, but Avengers: Doomsday sounds like it’s taking the whole thing to another level.
According to Lewis Pullman, stepping onto the set felt less like a normal movie shoot and more like walking into the most exclusive event imaginable. Only instead of designers and photographers, it was wall to wall superheroes.
Pullman, who’s still early in his MCU journey, recently opened up about the experience and it’s clear the scale of the film hit him hard. He said that being on set “felt like going to the Met Gala full of superheroes.”
“I felt very out of body the entire time,” he said in an interview with Entertainment Tonight. “I was truly flabbergasted at how I could be of service in something that is surrounded by so many total legends … I had so much fun. I can’t wait to see the movie.”
That sense of awe makes total sense when you look at how Pullman even got here. He made his Marvel debut in Thunderbolts, the 2025 film that threw together a dangerous mix of antiheroes including Yelena Belova, Bucky Barnes, Red Guardian, Ghost, Taskmaster, and John Walker.
With the world operating without the Avengers, the team was forced to step up and deal with a global-level threat. Pullman played Bob, a seemingly unassuming guy who was later revealed to be one of Marvel’s wildest characters. Both Sentry and his terrifying alter ego, The Void.
That movie’s post-credit scene cracked the door wide open for what’s coming next. The Thunderbolts officially rebrand as The New Avengers, setting the stage for Avengers: Doomsday.
Things escalate quickly when the Fantastic Four enter the picture and multiple teams start lining up for a massive collision with Robert Downey Jr.’s Doctor Doom, who’s set as the film’s main antagonist.
Pullman won’t be walking into that chaos alone. Familiar faces from Thunderbolts like Florence Pugh, Sebastian Stan, David Harbour, and Wyatt Russell are all set to return alongside him. Then the cast list keeps expanding as Avengers: Doomsday pulls in The Avengers, the original X-Men characters, the Wakandans, The fantastic Four, and even Chris Evans as Steve Rogers.
For a newer MCU player suddenly surrounded by decades of fan-favorite characters, it’s easy to see why the experience left him stunned and excited.
