Dorit Confronts Erika for Defending Kyle Amid feud

On this episode of  The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills, Kyle‘s text to Paul “PK” Kemsley is like the 7th cast member.  Give it a diamond and call it a day at this point.  The hyper focus on what Kyle said, how she said it, if she should have said it pushes Kyle to her breaking point.  But when Erika chooses to defend Kyle, Dorit questions their friendship, making things even more dramatic.  If there’s one thing I know for sure, Bozoma’s healing spa day won’t stand a chance with this group.

It is so lovely for Boz to host a Sisterhood Serenity Soirée at her home, a theme inspired by Sutton. Boz explains that Sutton did a lousy job with the original idea, and so she is jumping in to actually execute it well.  Kyle’s text to PK (THE text) has been the hot topic amongst the group and so Boz phones Dorit before the event to discuss what she knows.  Boz lets Dorit know that Garcelle shared that there is more to the Kyle/PK text than anyone thought.  Boz makes it very clear that it’s not just friendly memes and jokes being sent back and forth, which is interesting considering Erika told Dorit she, too, saw the text, but it is not bad.

Boz finds it curious that Kyle did NOT show her the text (did she know Boz was an ally to Dorit?), but instead physically showed the message to the other girls.  Kyle still can’t get over the fact that Dorit is making it “weird” to send memes to PK on Instagram and states that for Boz’s event, she plans on ignoring Dorit.

Boz is thrilled to present the 14-course meal, massages, and robe sets to the women- what could possibly go wrong?! However, after the Viper Room, things have been off with the group and lines have been crossed. Garcelle reminds Jennifer that Kyle showed and read the text to the group.  That text proves PK and Kyle’s conversing is so much more than memes…

When Dorit arrives to Boz’s, she comes in hot, throwing shade at Kyle’s “comfy wardrobe.” Dorit points out that the dress is from 2004, so it’s “worn in enough.” Sutton, Jennifer, and Garcelle join the group and so the days’ activities begin. The women enjoy some massages, until Dorit walks over to disturb Garcelle’s relaxation. She discusses her reaction to Garcelle and admits to feeling lost. Garcelle offers to give some insight and Dorit apologizes for her past actions.  Garcelle is surprised to see Dorit taking accountability and she welcomes this Dorit 2.0.

Boz takes a moment to confront Kyle about the infamous text between her and PK.  She wonders why Kyle chose to read the text to the others, but not to her. Kyle goes on to tell Boz “exactly” what it said and goes on to paraphrase the context of the text.  Sutton jumps over and adds that Kyle had to have sent more than funny memes, but Kyle is p*ssed that Sutton now gave her two cents, making things even more weird in this situation.

Boz feels like Dorit needs to know any conversation that Kyle has with PK, but Kyle wonders why Boz is taking this upon herself.  Boz doesn’t know anything about these relationships! Sutton reminds Kyle that she pulled out the phone and no one asked her to do so. After this, Kyle excuses herself from the heat and is very clearly upset.

Erika explains that Kyle is emotional because people are making this text out to be more than it seems. Erika believes that Dorit and Kyle need to have this conversation before the game of telephone gets worse. Erika checks in on Kyle who refuses to look like she has done something wrong. Dorit doesn’t understand how this topic has been discussed with everyone but her.  Kyle doesn’t think that she owes Dorit anything in this situation and she is beyond annoyed by all of this.

Kyle comes back from her tearful exit to tell the group she isn’t sure how this all went sideways.  She tells them through tears that she just wants to say one thing, and then she is leaving.  Kyle claims she has been made to look like she has done something wrong. She goes on to read THE text verbatim, including “I wouldn’t repeat anything I’ve ever shared with you.” Kyle tries to cover for herself, claiming she meant “with production,” but this does not look great because it is more than memes and jokes. Kyle storms off, claiming she loves Dorit’s family, but she is done.

It sure didn’t take long before this event spiraled.  The whole group comes to check on a crying Kyle, who points out they should all be ashamed of themselves for behaving like this at their age.  Erika understands why Kyle is so upset, considering all the things are falling apart around her.

Eventually, Dorit and Kyle are left alone to sort things out and I love that they are having a deep convo in their robes out front of Boz’s house. Dorit feels like a girls’ girl would have stopped talking to her husband before she even had to ask. Dorit goes on to say she used to call PK “The Monster,” and although no one knows what goes on behind closed doors, Kyle feels like Dorit always wore the pants in their relationship.

Dorit wonders why Kyle would write “you know I wouldn’t share things.”  It’s not the same as “I’d never say it on camera.”  Dorit feels like PK shares things with everyone, and that Kyle and PK share war stories about Dorit. According to Dorit, Kyle is “lying through her teeth” but Kyle feels like everyone is talking about THIS now, instead of about what a lousy friend Dorit has been with her.

Erika jumps to Kyle’s defense after she leaves, which causes Boz to wonder WTF. Boz explains that she looks at conflict and tries to dissolve it (even if Dorit tends to be the common denominator) and Sutton takes a moment to smooth things over a bit with Dorit.

Kyle is still reeling about what occurred at Boz’s event, but today is Portia’s 16th birthday, so she is focusing on that instead. Although their family will never be what it was, they are doing a great job of keeping it all together to make things as normal as possible. Like gifting Portia a Porsche.  Normal.

Sutton, and her dog, roll up to Garcelle’s beach house. Sutton doesn’t appreciate that Kyle stormed out of the party.  Garcelle thinks it’s just weird that this text thing has become a lot more than it’s supposed to be.  Sutton wonders why Kyle thinks she is above the drama of the group, particularly since Kyle has always been the one to call girls out when they leave.  The double standard is inconsiderate and so was the age shaming Kyle spat out. Sutton promises she is not going to “bow down at the altar of Kyle Richards.”

Because there wasn’t much R&R at Boz’s house, Erika and Dorit have decided to do their own thing and get facials.  Dorit knows she can USUALLY count on Erika as a friend, but she feels hurt by Erika not sticking up for her at Boz’s.  Dorit feels like Kyle is doing a cop out by claiming the sharing portion of the text meant about “production.” Erika tries to be truthful with Dorit, but Dorit only wants to hear her idea of the truth.  Erika does a good job of talking in legalese and reminds Dorit she is not going to jump to assumptions about the text’s meaning.

Erika admits that Kyle’s message sounds sus, but she will not assume the worse. Dorit feels like when things come to Kyle, Erika is almost scared of her and feels the need to defend her. Dorit can’t believe that Erika said “Kyle did nothing wrong” but in the end, Erika is tired of being the middle man.  She does not want to have to side with anyone, since she can see this text both ways.  Erika doesn’t want what Dorit is saying to be true about Kyle’s intention, but if what Dorit is claiming WERE true, Erika will not be ok with it…

WHAT ARE YOUR THOUGHTS ON THE RHOBH RECAP?
