Guy Sebastian, Dami Im, Kate Miller-Heidke, Jessica Mauboy – those are the very big shoes rising West Australian pop star Go-Jo now has to fill on the world stage.
The 29-year-old singer, whose song Mrs Hollywood was all over TikTok in 2023 but would not have been found on radio waves, will be heading to Basel, Switzerland, to represent Australia at Eurovision in May.
“It’s an absolute dream come true to represent such a beautiful and diverse nation, and I’ve never been more excited to share my art and vision with the incredible Eurovision fans around the world!” Go-Jo, whose real name is Marty Zambotto, says of his selection.

The Manjimup-born, Sydney-based musician will be performing his hit Milkshake Man, with the bop’s official music video being released on YouTube this morning to coincide with the announcement.
Go-Jo says: “The Milkshake Man’s purpose is to inspire people to embrace the loudest and proudest version of themselves, and I can’t think of a better place to share that message than the Eurovision stage!”
Though he may have grown up hundreds of kilometres south of Perth, Go-Jo is no stranger to the Continent.

Born to a French father, Go-Jo has toured Europe, the United States and Southeast Asia, with a worldwide following of more than 1.4 milllion across TikTok, YouTube and Instagram.
In 2023, he was the ninth most-streamed Australian artist in the world.
With Mrs Hollywood amassing more than 60 million digital streams and one billion views across all platforms since its release, it’s no surprise music is in his blood – Go-Jo’s mother was the frontwoman of a local rock act, and bought him his first guitar (an electric instrument from Toyworld).

“From the first moment we saw Go-Jo on stage, we realised he had a unique connection with audiences, and we know he’ll get a lot of love from the Eurovision community,” Paul Clarke, Australia’s creative director for the Basel competition, says.
“This year, we are celebrating Australia’s 10th Eurovision entrant, and this one will go off with a bang (or should we say slurp!)
“Milkshake Man is a fresh sound and style for us in Eurovision, and we’re thrilled with this track from Go-Jo and the legendary Sheppard songwriting team.”
The Eurovision Song Contest will he held from May 13 to May 17 this year in Basel, Switzerland, being broadcast to homes across Australia on SBS from May 14 to May 18.
