Everything started on Monday after the Hitch star took to Instagram to question the recent trend of people recording videos from their cars.
“I hear that people like car videos, like, of people talking while they’re in the car,” Eva began as she rode along in a backseat. “Question for you guys: Why?”
“I’m not judging,” she noted. “I’m just curious why. Why the car video? Why is this a thing?”
Fans barely answered her question in the comments — instead, they wanted to know why she wasn’t wearing a seat belt.
When one fan wrote that Eva was “too precious to lose,” the actor replied, “What a sweet comment! I had taken off because I was near my destination but you’re right!! Thank you! ❤️❤️❤️”
She also replied to a comment that it was “ridiculous” not to wear a seat belt with the same grace and accountability, saying she was “literally pulling up to work but yes! You’re right. Thx for caring.”
Aside from the concern over the seat belt, there were also the most random and bizarre comments on the post, like from one user who told her, “I used to like you, now you’re acting too much… be more simple!”
Eva also replied to that comment, although this time, she had a much stronger response.
She wrote, “Funniest comment I’ve read in a long time -‘be more simple’. So how about I keep my comment back to you simple….’no, I won’t be more simple.’ Have a good day!”
