Mike Schur‘s small-screen Subject of Desires adaptation has struck out at Peacock.
Ordered straight-to collection again in August, the collection is now not shifting ahead on the two-year-old streamer, our sister website Selection experiences. Producer Common Tv is alleged to now be buying the mission elsewhere.
Schur, the creator of Parks and Recreation and The Good Place, was set to write down and executive-produce the collection, which aimed to “reimagine the combination of household, baseball, Iowa and magic that makes the film so enduring and beloved,” per the official description. Different EPs embrace David Miner, who labored on different Schur collection like Brooklyn 9-9 and Grasp of None, and Lawrence Gordon, who served as a producer on the 1989 Subject of Desires film.
The film Subject of Desires, which was tailored from W.P. Kinsella’s novel Shoeless Joe, starred Kevin Costner as Ray Kinsella, a farmer who builds a baseball area on his land after listening to a mysterious voice that urges him to take action.
“By means of the years, Subject of Desires has remained a fan favourite, sustaining its rightful place within the zeitgeist,” NBCUniversal Tv and Streaming chief Lisa Katz mentioned final summer time as Peacock greenlit Schur’s collection. “It’s whimsical and grounded, an area the place Mike Schur excels, and we’re trying ahead to bringing a brand new model of this basic to Peacock.”
