General Hospital‘s latest Willow storyline has left many fans furious. Fans expected Willow to finally face consequences after everything happened with Drew. Instead, the July 28 episode ended with Willow walking away once again.
General Hospital fans are furious over Willow winning again
Many fans expected Drew, played by Cameron Mathison, to finally expose Willow’s crimes. Instead, Willow managed to escape without facing any real punishment. Drew confronted Willow, played by Katelyn MacMullen, during Monday’s episode.
He wanted her to get punished for everything she had done. Willow had shot Drew and kept him drugged for months. Things changed after Nina, played by Cynthia Watros, arrived with Jack, played by Chris McKenna. He uncovered evidence exposing Drew’s own criminal actions instead. Willow quickly used that evidence against Drew.
She forced Drew into keeping quiet about everything that happened. The deal also ended their marriage without any reprisals. Willow even kept Drew’s congressional seat after the agreement. Many fans were left frustrated by the final outcome as they felt Willow had won once again.
Karen Keough Matarese wrote on the Soap Opera Digest Facebook page, “Very disappointed I wanted to see Willow get hers not walk out smirking.” Some fans were also angry over Willow’s final scene.
She removed her wedding rings before dropping them onto the floor. One of those rings originally belonged to Lila Quartermaine. On X (formerly Twitter), a fan asked, “Was that Lilas ring Willow so blatantly dropped on the floor? Shame on her.”
Several viewers also felt the payoff wasn’t worth the buildup. Willow had already escaped punishment for shooting Drew earlier, as another fan wrote, “So Willow shoots Drew, drugs him for months and gets away free and clear w/o losing anything? Not a Drew fan but come on. The bad guys need to pay not win. Once again GH flops the ending. Do better GH!!!”
Fans are now waiting to see if Willow will finally face consequences. For now, many believe she escaped again while Drew lost everything.
